Once you have a manuscript ready for publication, the next step is to find a publisher.
Below is a list of Catholic publishers and their guidelines for manuscript submissions:
Ascension Press
“Committed to publishing popular Catholic books, Bible studies, and faith-formation resources that speak to the needs—and touch the hearts—of today’s Catholics.”
Ave Maria Press
A highly selective Catholic publisher of spiritual nonfiction and educational books for Catholics and Catholic institutions.
Catholic Book Publishing Corp.
Submission information can be found under the company’s FAQ section. Query letters are preferred over full manuscripts.
Emmaus Academic
The academic publishing arm of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, dedicated to publishing “the very best in faithful scholarship.”
Full Quiver Publishing
Hybrid publisher specializing in Catholic fiction, with a particular emphasis on novels incorporating Theology of the Body themes.
Ignatius Press
This prominent Catholic press is not seeking fiction, children’s books, poetry, prayer books, or pamphlets. Submission guidelines are precise and require manuscripts to be “carefully proofread” before submission.
Rafka Press
Founded in 2006, Rafka Press publishes Catholic children’s fiction, spiritual reading, and books on marriage and family life.
The Catholic University of America Press
Pro Ecclesia: A Journal of Catholic and Evangelical Theology
Remember, a polished manuscript can help make a positive first impression. Before submitting to any publisher, consider having your work professionally proofread to ensure it’s as error-free and submission-ready as possible.
Do you know of any Catholic publishers who are accepting manuscript submissions but aren’t on this list? Please let me know, and I’ll include them on this resource page.
