Writing is often a solitary task, so it can be beneficial (as well as refreshing) to meet other Catholic writers who can relate to your particular genre.
A good writing group offers encouragement and constructive suggestions so members can grow as writers and improve their craft.
I hope you find the following list of Catholic groups helpful:
Catholic Writers Guild
If you join only one group, this is the one I recommend. I’m a member myself and continue to enjoy the many benefits.
Catholic Literary Arts
This group offers events and classes related to Catholic literary arts.
Fiat Self-Publishing Academy
This academy teaches authors how to publish good, true, and beautiful books through the lens of the Catholic faith. Membership includes access to an online community.
Guardian Angels Parish Catholic Writers Group
This group is for every level of writer, from beginner to published, and meets every fourth Tuesday of the month.
Padre Serra Parish Writers Group
This friendly parish group meets virtually to pray and write.
Catholic Writers of St. Louis
A community of published and aspiring authors in the St. Louis area.
College of the Holy Cross Writer’s Workshop
Students meet with trained peer consultants for individual 45-minute appointments.
St. Charles Catholic High School Creative Writing Club
Let’s not forget all the teen writers! Here’s a group just for these young, budding writers. Members of the club meet virtually, via Google Classroom, several times a year.
Divine Savior Holy Angels High School Creative Writing Club
Here’s another writing club for high school students. This one meets twice a month.
Do you know of a Catholic writing group not listed here?
If so, please contact me so I can add it to this resource page.
Thank you, and God bless!
